Mimi Bell
Owner and Editor
Mimi has more than 20 years of experience in editorial direction, copy and developmental editing, and publications management, with specialties in custom magazines, small press books, and publications for nonprofits, membership organizations, and associations.
She’s worked in Chicago, San Francisco, and Minneapolis—and calls Michigan’s Great Lakes Bay Region home—for manufacturing; business; economic development; association, philanthropy, and nonprofit; professional services; and academic and higher education clients; edited for a preK-5 textbook publisher; and written articles for national magazines about memory health, charitable giving, her love affair with Honeycrisp apples, and more.
She judges national publishing awards programs in the categories of editorial for print, digital content, and magazine design, and is a national conference presenter. She teaches editing classes for freelance writers’ associations, the American Society of Business Publication Editors, and community colleges and universities.
Mimi champions the English language and good manners—and shakes a stick at text “writing.”
